Event Flights
The Gypsy Drifter balloon participates in many hot air balloon events in California and western United States.  You can join in the fun, be part of the crew, ride in the balloon during fun competitions, and join the tail-gate parties.  Some events may require travel and over night accommodations.  Please contact us for event dates and details.

Sky Diving or Free Falling
Base jumping from five or six thousand feet you will experience a quiet windless takeoff, free-falling straight down.  A crew person will be waiting on the ground to give you a ride back.  Weather permitting; we might do a second flight.

Marriage Proposal
This special occasion requires special handling and treatment to make the perfect memory.  You can pop the question while we float quietly at 6,000 feet (mile high proposal) or drifting over scenic vineyards.  How about a “Will you marry me?” sign on the roof of the chase vehicle to surprise the prospective bride or groom during the flight?  A bouquet of roses will greet your sweetheart when we land, along with a romantic private champagne picnic brunch.  This flight can also be a celebration of a special anniversary. Weddings or Marriage Ceremonies
A wedding in a balloon is a unique and unforgettable occasion.  We can tailor the ceremony to your specifications with flowers, ribbons, and music.  Wedding parties can have an eight passenger balloon or multiple balloons with radios so all can listen to your vows.  Consider having a traditional ceremony and then leaving the church or reception in a hot air balloon with a trail of rose petals drifting to earth as you sail away on the breeze. 

Long Jumps or Long Distance Flight
These flights are an unforgettable experience for real adventurers.  We may fly over desert, lakes, and mountains at tree top level or as high as 9,000 feet.  The length of flight may be two hours or more and we could travel 50 miles or more.  Landings may be thrilling, unpredictable, or windy and bumpy, depending on the weather, winds, and fuel.  Safety is always our utmost goal in assuring an enjoyable experience so good planning and provisions are required.  The date and location of the launch is mostly determined by the weather.  Please contact us to discuss your adventure.

Flights for Land Lovers
If you’ve always dreamed of a balloon flight but have a fear of flying or heights, we have a flight just for you. We’ll set up a flight as close to the ground as you desire, skimming gently just inches above the earth. We will land in an instant if you say the word, but our experience tells us that you just might find yourself relaxing enough to go to treetop level or beyond. Terrain flying is a special thrill that allows you to have all the excitement without the fear of leaving the earth too far. You’ll be our only passengers, on this flight, and your comfort is our only goal.
